I am very impressed with the service I received from HEP. I recently had them install a tankless water heater and relocate the hookups to my basement. This left a hole in the ceiling from the vent, some holes in the floor for the old piping, as well as an unfinished piece of flooring where the old hot water heater used to sit. The quote I received wasn't specific to either include or exclude the time of a dry waller to match the stamped patter of my ceiling surface or for someone to come out and replace a piece of subfloor AND lay new laminate flooring. I didn't have to argue. I am used to having to argue to get good service from contractors and HEP just did the work no questions asked. In addition to the plumbing work they sent out two separate service calls to fix the ceiling and the floor and the space looks like there was never a hot water heater to begin with. I'm sure that those additional trips ate into their planned budget/profit of the water heater installation but since the quote and contract weren't specific they just did the work without any push back! I will definitely be spending my money with HEP in the future because I trust that they have integrity with their work and they aren't just in it for a quick buck. They are obviously looking to build relationships for lifelong customers. I will be that lifelong customer. I already have another quote with them for another project in the works.

Tazewell homeowners who switch to a tankless water heater quickly discover the value of endless hot water, lower energy bills, and a space-saving footprint. Yet the benefits of this advanced appliance hinge on precise installation. HEP, a trusted plumbing company in the region, specializes in tankless water heater install work that aligns with local code, manufacturer specifications, and Tazewell’s unique water conditions. Professional expertise ensures the new unit delivers on its promise of convenience and efficiency for years to come.

How Tankless Water Heaters Differ From Traditional Storage Tanks

Unlike traditional storage water heaters that continuously warm 40 to 80 gallons of water, tankless models heat water only when it is needed. This on-demand design eliminates standby loss and offers a more compact solution for today’s homes.

Core Technical Distinctions

  • Flow-activated heat exchanger warms water instantly
  • No large tank susceptible to sediment buildup
  • Electronic controls manage temperature precisely
  • Venting systems designed for rapid exhaust of combustion gases
  • Life span that often exceeds typical storage tanks by several years

The simplified footprint allows HEP plumbers to install a tankless unit on a basement wall, inside a utility closet, or even outside the home with the proper protective enclosure.

Myth-Busting Tankless Water Heater Misconceptions

Misunderstandings sometimes deter homeowners from embracing on-demand technology.

  • “Tankless units can’t serve large families.” Modern models deliver up to 11 GPM, enough for simultaneous showers and laundry cycles.
  • “The water takes longer to get hot.” Delay is governed by pipe length, not heater type; optional recirculation loops eliminate wait time.
  • “Electric units work in every home.” Inadequate amperage or panel capacity can make electric models impractical compared with gas or propane.
  • “Maintenance isn’t necessary.” Annual descaling remains crucial, especially in areas with moderate-to-high hardness such as Tazewell.

Dispelling these myths fosters informed decisions and sets realistic performance expectations.

Synergy With Renewable Energy Upgrades

A tankless water heater pairs well with solar thermal or photovoltaic systems, creating a hybrid approach to sustainability.

Integration Pathways
