FAQs

Why should I have a dedicated drinking-water plumbing line installed rather than using my regular cold-water tap?

A dedicated line is routed after the purification system and never mixes with untreated water, so every glass you pour is free of chlorine, sediment, heavy metals and microbial contaminants. It also prevents backflow from other fixtures, reduces wear on filters by supplying only what you plan to drink or cook with, and allows you to keep optimal flow and pressure for everyday tasks at other taps.

What kinds of water-purification technologies does Reliance install?

We design and install point-of-use and whole-home systems that may include multi-stage sediment and carbon filtration, reverse osmosis (RO) membranes, UV disinfection, and remineralisation cartridges. Our specialists match the technology—or a tailored combination of technologies—to the water-quality report for your neighbourhood and to your family’s consumption needs.

How do I know which purification system is right for my home or business?

At your free consultation one of our licensed plumbers collects a water sample on-site and reviews the municipal water report. We then identify the specific impurities present—such as hardness, chlorine taste, lead, or microbial cysts—and recommend the smallest system that will meet those targets. You receive a written quote, expected maintenance schedule, and performance guarantee before any work begins.

How often will I need to replace filters, RO membranes, or UV lamps?

Replacement intervals depend on incoming water quality and daily usage, but as a rule of thumb: • Sediment and carbon pre-filters: every 6–12 months • RO membrane: every 24–36 months • UV lamp: annually • Post-carbon or remineralisation cartridge: every 12 months Our service plans track these dates for you and include reminders, discounted parts, and a system performance check at each visit.

Does Reliance take care of permits, installation, and future maintenance?

Yes. We handle municipal plumbing permits, supply certified components, install dedicated faucets or fridge lines, sanitise and pressure-test the system, and dispose of old filters responsibly. After installation you can enrol in our maintenance plan, which covers annual servicing, emergency call-outs, and priority scheduling for any upgrades or repairs.

Will my purified water still be safe during a boil-water advisory or contamination event?

Boil-water advisories are issued when pathogens may be present. If your system includes both reverse osmosis and an NSF-certified UV stage—and it has been properly maintained—it can inactivate or remove bacteria, viruses, and protozoa to levels that meet or exceed boil-water safety standards. Nevertheless, public-health guidelines apply to everyone, so we recommend following official advisories unless you have written verification that your specific system provides the necessary level of protection.
