FAQs

What does it mean to be Gas Safe registered and why is it important for commercial premises?

Being Gas Safe registered means our engineers are listed on the UK’s official register for qualified gas engineers. For commercial sites this is critical, as it ensures all work on boilers, heaters, pipework and appliances is carried out legally and in accordance with current safety regulations (Gas Safety [Installation & Use] Regulations 1998). Using non-registered personnel can invalidate insurance, lead to fines and put staff or the public at risk of carbon-monoxide poisoning or gas leaks.

Which types of commercial properties and systems do your engineers service in Manchester?

We cover the full spectrum of commercial venues across Greater Manchester, including offices, retail units, warehouses, manufacturing plants, hospitality venues, schools, care homes and public buildings. Our engineers are qualified to work on commercial boilers (from 70 kW up to multi-megawatt cascades), warm-air and radiant heaters, commercial kitchens, direct-fired water heaters, boosted water systems, pumps, unvented cylinders and all associated gas, water and waste pipework.

Are you available for emergency call-outs and how quickly can you attend our site?

Yes. We operate a 24 / 7 emergency response service. For sites within the Manchester ring road we can typically be on site within 1 hour; for Greater Manchester postcodes we aim for 2 hours or less. Our vans carry common replacement parts, enabling us to complete most first-fix repairs during the initial visit and minimise business downtime.

Can you handle installation and certification of commercial gas appliances and pipework?

Absolutely. We carry out design, supply, installation and commissioning of new commercial gas appliances, plant rooms and distribution pipework. After installation we complete tightness testing and gas safety certification (CP42, CP15, CP16, CP17, CP42 etc.) and submit Building Regulations notifications where required. Annual servicing packages and landlord safety certificates can be scheduled in advance to keep your compliance records up to date.

How do you ensure compliance with health & safety and UK legislation for commercial gas plumbing?

All work is risk-assessed and method statements (RAMS) are produced before we start. Our engineers hold valid CSCS cards, are trained in working at height, confined spaces and asbestos awareness, and all equipment is PAT and calibration-certified. We follow the Institution of Gas Engineers & Managers (IGEM) guidelines, Health & Safety at Work Act, and British Standards such as BS 6644 and BS 6891. On completion you receive digital service reports, test results and certification for your audit trail.

What information do you need to provide a quotation, and how are your services priced?

For planned works we ask for appliance make/model, capacity, access details, building drawings (if available) and preferred timescales. One of our surveyors can also visit free of charge to gather this data. Prices are calculated either on a fixed-price project basis (for installations and refurbishments) or an hourly rate for reactive repairs, with transparent schedules for parts. Maintenance contracts can be tailored to include priority response and annual compliance checks at a discounted bundled rate.
