FAQs
What kinds of kitchen faucets can you install or replace in Jefferson City homes?
We work with virtually every style now on the market, including single-handle, two-handle, pull-down, pull-out, commercial spring-neck, bridge, bar/prep, touchless (motion-sensor) and voice-activated models. Because we are licensed Jefferson City master plumbers, we can also reroute or adapt supply lines if you’re moving from a two-hole to a single-hole configuration, adding an accessory sprayer, or upgrading to a filtration faucet. We install products from all major manufacturers—Delta, Moen, Kohler, Pfister, American Standard, Grohe, Kraus and others—and back our labor with a one-year workmanship warranty.
How do I know whether I should repair my existing faucet or replace it altogether?
A faucet that drips, has weak water pressure, or feels “loose” can often be repaired with a new cartridge, aerator, or set of O-rings. However, replacement is usually the smarter choice when: (1) the fixture is more than 12–15 years old; (2) internal parts are no longer manufactured; (3) corrosion is visible on the body or supply connections; (4) the finish is badly scratched or discolored; or (5) you’re remodeling and need a different configuration or finish. During our service call we’ll inspect the faucet, show you the cost difference between repair parts and a new unit, and let you decide with no pressure.
Can you install water-saving or touchless faucets, and will they work with my existing plumbing?
Yes. Most EPA WaterSense-certified kitchen faucets deliver 1.5 gpm or less without sacrificing pressure, and they connect to the same 3⁄8-in. supply lines already under your sink. Touchless and voice-activated models require a battery pack or a nearby 110-V outlet for the control module; if you don’t have an outlet in the cabinet, we can add one or recommend a battery-only fixture. We’ll verify that your shut-off valves are in good shape, replace them if necessary, and calibrate the sensor so it activates reliably.
How long does a typical kitchen faucet replacement take, and will my water be shut off?
Most replacements take 60–90 minutes from arrival to cleanup. We isolate the sink by closing the hot and cold stop valves underneath, so the rest of your home’s water stays on. The actual shut-off at the sink lasts about 30 minutes. If the old faucet is seized by mineral buildup or we need to swap out corroded supply valves, the job can stretch to two hours, but same-day completion is still standard.
What should I do to prepare my kitchen for the appointment?
Please clear the area under the sink so we have room for tools and a drain pan, and remove any fragile items on the counter above. If you’ve already purchased a replacement faucet, keep the box—plus any included mounting hardware and instructions—nearby. We bring new braided stainless supply lines, Teflon tape, plumber’s putty and disposal knockout plugs, but let us know in advance if you have a farmhouse sink or thick granite/countertops so we can load the appropriate extended-reach mounting kit.
Are permits required for kitchen faucet or other minor fixture replacements in Jefferson City, and do you handle the paperwork?
In Jefferson City, a plumbing permit is not required for like-for-like fixture swaps that do not alter the drainage or supply piping. If we have to move the sink, reroute lines, or install a new electrical outlet for a touchless faucet, the work does fall under the city’s plumbing or building codes. In those cases we pull the permit on your behalf, coordinate any necessary inspections, and include the nominal permit fee in your up-front quote so there are no surprises.
