FAQs

What types of warranties do I receive when Guild installs my new tankless water heater?

Every Guild tankless installation comes with two layers of protection: (1) the manufacturer’s warranty—typically a 10-to-15-year heat-exchanger warranty plus 5-year parts coverage—and (2) Guild’s own industry-leading Lifetime Craftsmanship Warranty, which guarantees the quality of our workmanship for as long as you own the home.

How long does the manufacturer’s warranty last on a tankless water heater?

Most premium brands we install offer a 10-to-15-year warranty on the stainless-steel heat exchanger, 5 years on all other factory parts, and 1 year on labor. Because Guild is a certified installer, several manufacturers extend that labor coverage to 3 years when we register the unit for you.

Does the Guild Craftsmanship Warranty include labor costs if something fails?

Yes. If a failure is traced back to an installation or plumbing workmanship issue, Guild covers 100 % of the labor and materials required to correct the problem—no service-call fees, no trip charges, and no prorating—provided the system has been properly maintained.

What maintenance do I have to perform to keep my warranties valid?

Both Guild and the equipment manufacturers require annual maintenance: (1) descaling or flushing the heat exchanger, (2) cleaning the inlet filter, and (3) inspecting venting and gas-line connections. Guild offers discounted annual service plans that document each visit to ensure your warranty status remains active.

Are there exclusions or limitations I should know about?

Normal wear-and-tear parts such as remote-control batteries, water filters, and isolation valves are not covered. Damage caused by improper use, freezing, neglect, or unlicensed alterations voids the warranty. In addition, the water heater must be connected to potable water with hardness below manufacturer limits (usually <12 grains per gallon), or a softener must be installed.

How do I start a warranty claim if I have an issue?

Simply call Guild’s dedicated warranty line or submit a claim through the customer portal. We’ll troubleshoot over the phone, schedule a technician within 24 hours, and handle all manufacturer paperwork. You do not have to contact the manufacturer directly—Guild is your single point of contact from diagnosis to final repair.
